Welcome to Tamarack Goldens! We’re located in beautiful Eagle, Idaho (near Boise).
While our Goldens have a spectacular history as show dogs, first and foremost they are members of our family.
Our emphasis in breeding is always quality over quantity. We are exceptionally proud of our Goldens, and we and the other families who have our Goldens are blessed by their love.
Tamarack Goldens is owned by me, Kathy Whipple. I purchased our first Golden Retriever, Cosmo, from Debbie Berry of Sunshine Goldens.
As a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America, I follow a strict Breeders Code of Ethics. My goal is to produce dogs that are of sound mind and body, of excellent temperament, intelligence, beauty, and that are true to type as described in the breed standard. All my dogs in my breeding program are screened for hip and elbow dysplasia and are certified normal by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals. We screen for Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis and other heart abnormalities by a Board Certified Cardiologist and have annual eye clearances done by a Board Certified Ophthalmologist.
